Privacy Policy

What We Collect

Pattern collects the minimum information needed to provide you with a working design tool. When you create an account, we store your name and email address. As you use the app, we store the project data you create — grid designs, palettes, motifs, and project metadata such as titles, dimensions, and craft type.

How We Use It

• Authentication: Your email and password are used to sign you in. Authentication is handled directly by Pattern through secure same-origin account routes operated by Cody Jo Method.
• Project storage: Your designs and project data are stored so you can access them across sessions and devices.
• Communication: We may use your email to send password reset links or critical service notices. We do not send marketing emails.

AI Features

Pattern offers optional AI-powered features including pattern instruction generation, pattern review, craft advice (Harlyn), and stash suggestions. When you use these features, your project data — including grid designs, palette colors, and craft settings — is sent to Anthropic for processing via their Claude API. Anthropic processes this data according to their own privacy policy and does not use it to train their models.

Email Delivery

Password reset codes and critical service notices are delivered via an external email service (Postal). Only your email address and the message content are shared with this service for delivery purposes.

Data Storage

All data is stored in a secure cloud database with encryption at rest and in transit. Our servers are located in the United States. We do not sell, rent, or share your data with third parties.

Third-Party Services

The following services process data on our behalf:

• Bunny Database — Database hosting and storage for your account and project data.
• Anthropic — AI-powered features (instruction generation, pattern review, craft advice).
• Postal — Email delivery for password resets and service notices.

Your Rights

• Access: You can view all your project data at any time from your workspace.
• Export: You can download your projects at any time using the built-in export feature.
• Deletion: You can delete individual projects from your workspace. You can also delete your entire account and all associated data from the account menu. Alternatively, contact us using the address below.
• Correction: If any of your personal information is incorrect, reach out and we will update it promptly.
